H.1434 - An Act establishing the public higher education contingent faculty reform pilot program

Current Status:  Read more.

Background: Contingent faculty are teachers not on the tenure track, such as adjuncts, who are compensated for each course they teach. Contingent faculty have weak job security and poor working conditions compared to tenure track faculty.

What this bill does: H.1434 would require the Department of Higher Education to pilot improved compensation and working conditions at three higher education institutions in the Commonwealth.
