H.2107 - An Act relative to raising the minimum wage closer to a living wage in the commonwealth

Current Status: Read More.

Senate Bill: S.1349, Senator Jason M. Lewis. Read More.

Background: In Massachusetts, the minimum wage for most workers is $15.00 per hour, which was phased in over several years after legislation was signed by the Governor in 2018. $15 in 2018 is $19.35 today (2025) adjusting for inflation.

What this bill does: H.2107 (co-filed with Representative Dan Donahue) would gradually raise the minimum hourly wage over four years to $20, the minimum tipped hourly wage to $12, and automatically adjust minimum wage in future by inflation. Adjusted for inflation, $15 in 2018 (when Massachusetts passed $15 dollar minimum wage) is now $19.10.
