Senate Bill: S.516 - Senator Jason Lewis. Read more.
Background: Glyphosate, the world’s most commonly used herbicide, is “probable human carcinogen” (as determined by the World Health Organization). Recent studies have found glyphosate residues in lakes, rivers, rainwater, soil and in human urine. Rep. Gentile has been personally tested, and his blood contained three times the level of glyphosate allowed in potable water in the European Union.
What this bill would do: H.813 would restrict the purchase and use of glyphosate-containing herbicides to licensed pesticide applicators and remove such products from retail stores.
